Advance Your Business, established in 2002, provides training, facilitation and mentoring.

Central to these services is creating a safe space for learning and challenging current processes and practices. This leads to organisations that more effectively deliver services.  Our values, Learning, Trust, Integrity and Relationship, underpin all aspects of our work.

Jill Nicholson is the Principal of Advance Your Business. She has been leading workshops, facilitating sessions and developing teams and people in not-for-profit organisations & small businesses for more than 25 years. She has developed a 6-day leadership training program, People Centered Leadership, which focusses on practical models and strategies that people can implement in their workplace.

In her early career as a Social Worker, Jill led teams in the often challenging child protection and sexual assault fields. Jill honed her leadership skills in pressurised workplaces with high service demand.

Pro bono work: Jill has led sessions for both staff and young people at the Indigenous organisation, Ganbina. She has facilitated many planning sessions for organisations and been an active volunteer with the highly successful Tomorrow Today Foundation.

Professional Memberships:  Jill is an accredited Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers. She is a member of the Australian College of Social Work and their Leadership and Governance Community of Practice.

Certificates: Jill has a Cert IV in Training and Assessment and is certified to administer the MSCEIT, an emotional intelligence and leadership tool.

Web Indigenous commitment 1Jill has worked with the Ganbina Indigenous Youth Program in Victoria since 2007:

  1. Writing up the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program manuals and workbooks in conjunction with past CEO, Adrian Appo
  2. Documentation of the Jobs4U2 program intake and service delivery processes with Ganbina staff
  3. Pro bono teaching in the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program (until 2013).
